The REDi Holbourne Group was established by two leading recruitment industry figures in South Africa who aimed to revolutionise the industry, both locally and internationally.

Rob Mailich founded REDi Recruitment in 2008, having experienced the stressful process of changing jobs during his accounting career in the UK and US. His goal was to create a people-focused environment where it was not just about ‘closing deals’ but people’s needs and feelings were prioritised. 

Soon enough REDi Recruitment became one of the most successful and recognised recruitment companies in South Africa working within the banking, financial services, professional services, IT, digital and healthcare industries.

In 2013, Eric van Gils and Rob Mailich founded Holbourne Advisory, which focused on executive search, talent mapping, and executive placements. 

Eric van Gils started his career at KPMG as a CA and later became a client of REDi Recruitment. Here, they together identified the inadequacies of executive search and talent mapping in the corporate world, leading them to join forces and give rise to Holbourne Advisory. 

Tragically, Eric van Gils passed away in 2021, but his legacy and values, including high morals, ethics, transparency, and honesty, continue to guide the REDi Holbourne Group.

Today, the REDi Holbourne Group has expanded into various specialised divisions, including Human Resources, Legal, Engineering, Commerce & Banking locally and abroad in the UK,  Europe and the UAE.
